Which licence do you need?
Microsoft 365 for business comes in several plans, at the time of writing called Business Basic, Standard and Premium. Basic includes email, Teams and the online versions of Word and Excel. Standard adds the desktop applications. Premium adds device management and extra security. The names and contents change from time to time, so we look at the current situation for each client.
For most offices with laptops, the plan with security and device management is worth it, because it lets you set up multi-factor sign-in, rules for devices and protection against phishing. For staff who only use email and Teams in the browser, Basic is often enough. We work out what is needed for each group of users, so you do not pay for licences you do not use.

A migration without downtime
Moving from an old mail system or from loose files to Microsoft 365 follows a fixed order. We copy mailboxes and files in the background, set up accounts, permissions and devices, and let a test group start working. Only when everything checks out do we switch the email over to the new environment.
That switch is the only moment with any risk. So we plan it outside office hours and keep the old environment available until you are sure nothing is missing. Your team gets a short briefing, so the first morning in the new environment goes smoothly.

Security that is right from day one
A Microsoft 365 environment built with default settings is often more open than it needs to be. We switch on multi-factor sign-in, restrict who can sign in from where, set what may be done with shared files and configure alerts for suspicious sign-ins.
A backup belongs with that. Microsoft keeps the service running, but what you or a hijacked account delete cannot always be recovered. Read more under security and backup.

Teams and SharePoint: order in your files
Teams is meant for chat and meetings, SharePoint for files. Together they work well when there is a clear structure: a team per department or project, fixed folders and permissions that match the role. Without that structure you quickly end up with a tangle of copies in which nobody can find the latest version.

That depends on what your staff do. Anyone who only uses email and Teams is fine with the lightest plan. For laptops with device management and extra security, a fuller plan is usually wiser. We work it out for each group of users.
How long does a migration to Microsoft 365 take?
That depends on the number of mailboxes and the amount of data. The preparation usually takes more time than the switch itself. We make a schedule up front, so you know what happens when.
